Museum of Prehistory of the Gorges du Verdon
A museum that tells the story of Man in Provence. Come and discover archaeological objects from around 60 sites in Haute-Provence and Verdon.
The Prehistory Museum of the Gorges du Verdon presents to the public the adventure of the first men in Provence since one million years.
The permanent exhibition alternates scenes of prehistoric life, archaeological objects from Haute-Provence and the Verdon and multimedia supports.
At the entrance to the museum, a mammoth, a woolly rhinoceros, a reindeer, a megaceros and a sabre-toothed tiger welcome visitors.
OPENING OF THE MUSEUM SHOP
From Saturday 20 February, from 10 am to 5.30 pm, you will be able to discover the entire shop, which includes books, comics, games and objects that take you back to prehistory. You will also have the opportunity to obtain the leaflet of the orientation course of the prehistoric village.
