Road Trip in Provence

Set off for five days to discover the Luberon and its exceptional landscapes, between lavender fields, olive trees and vineyards. Beautiful discoveries in perspective!

You will discover the charm of hilltop villages, such as Gordes, the ochres that color the landscape in Roussillon, Rustrel and the local products that make this territory famous.

Day 1 - Towards Fontaine de Vaucluse - Distance: 30 km/Bonnieux > Fontaine de Vaucluse

You arrive in Bonnieux in the morning when the team of our travel agency takes care of your luggage (if you choose the option) and present you your travel documents as well as your bicycles. Enjoy your morning to visit the village and have lunch on site.

You leave in the footsteps of Picasso and Nicolas de Staël and discover the rich historical heritage of the village of Ménerbes. You then take the road towards Oppede-le-Vieux where you discover the beautiful 12th century collegiate church that dominates the village. After enjoying the panorama, you descend to L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, nicknamed the 'Venice of the Comtat' due to the multiple arms of the Sorgue that cross it. You then take the direction of Fontaine-de-Vaucluse where you spend the night.

Day 2 - The Abbey of Sénanque - Distance: 35 km/Fontaine-de-Vaucluse > Roussillon

After breakfast, take the time to discover Fontaine-de-Vaucluse and the impressive spring that gushes at the foot of the cliff and its emerald-green waters. Then you join Gordes, one of the most beautiful villages in France and do not miss the famous Abbey of Senanque. Then you return to the village of Roussillon, in the heart of the largest ochrier deposit in the world and enjoy the beautiful landscapes that are available to you. You sleep on site.

Day 3 - On the road of Les Ocres - Distance: 35 km/Roussillon > Apt

After breakfast, take the pretty route des ochres towards the village of Gargas and then continue your way to the small village of Saint-Saturnin-lès-Apt. After enjoying the view, you descend to the village of Rustrel, also known as 'Colorado Provençal' where you can take a break to stroll through the alleys and admire the recently restored 17th century castle. Then take the road to the charming little town of Apt where you spend the night.

Day 4 - To the Aigues Valley - Distance: 60 km*/Apt > Lourmarin

You leave in the morning to the village of Céreste located on the border between the Vaucluse and the Alpes de Haute-Provence and then let yourself be guided among the exceptional landscapes to the village of Bastide-des-Jourdans in the Aigues Valley. You leave this fortified village towards Lourmarin, one of the most beautiful villages in France. Like Albert Camus, you are charmed by the narrow alleys that lead to the castle and sleep on site.

Day 5 - Return to Bonnieux - Distance: 60 km*/Lourmarin > Bonnieux
