An estate in the heart of the Verdon... in a Provencal country house of typical architecture.

The estate of Valx-Félines was once in the hands of several noble families who entrusted their farm property to peasants. In the middle of the 18th century, a family of Moustiers earthenware, the Aillaud family, became the owner of the entire estate.
There are three buildings on the estate: the “Château Aillaud”, the farm and the sheepfold. The Bastide de Valx was renovated in 2001-2002 to accommodate the premises of the Parc du Verdon headquarters. This building, designated as a castle in the notarial acts of the period, has a traditional 17th century architecture.
The Valx-Félines estate covers nearly 250 hectares of oak and pine forests, as well as agricultural land. Owned by the Conservatoire du Littoral since 1993, this space is given in management to the Regional Natural Park of Verdon. Truffles, olive groves, market gardening land, mowing meadows, cereals are all productions that come alongside and follow one another.

Located within the perimeter of the remarkable coastline area, listed and listed in the Gorges du Verdon, the Valx and Félines estates integrate a vast area recognized for heritage richness in the heart of prestigious landscapes.
In a region often faced with drought, the wealth and agricultural reputation of the Valx estate is water. Two main sources feed the estate with water that infiltrates from the plateau of Ourbes located upstream. A network of dry-stone canals was remarkably developed since the 17th century to supply all cultivated plots, buildings and fountains and washhouse. The irrigation system is gravity there. It takes over a traditional system of Provence. In an

effort not to freeze these places but rather to make them live, the Conservatoire du Littoral and the Verdon Regional Natural Park have undertaken partnerships with farmers involved and sensitive to the spirit of the place. Current agricultural practices have been able to restore a second life to the Valx and Félines estates.
Since 2013, GAEC La Ferme des Fabrigoules has settled in the old renovated livestock buildings (sheepfold of Valx and Félines). Their activity is focused on goat breeding and cheese processing, but also around market garment activity.
