From Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, the route goes down to Lake Sainte-Croix for a well-deserved swim before climbing to the Valensole plateau.

This last difficulty crossed, the route extends by a trail path, in the middle of the lavender fields, to the orientation table overlooking the lake and the village of Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon.
