A walk in the heights of the Luberon, at the edge of the ridges.

Not to be missed:

Vitrolles-en-Luberon: Romanesque church of Saint-Étienne, 17th century castle, Saint-Siméon farm, oil mill.

La Bastide-des-Jourdans: vestige of the 13th century castle, remains of the ramparts with two doors, 16th century church, chapel Notre-Dame de la cavalry de Limaye, chapel Saint-Pierre de Pomerols.

The Transhumance:

The two wooded slopes of the Luberon are separated in Crete by a long and narrow strip of lawn.

These open habitats of great biological richness are the result of altitude, exposure to winds and ancestral use by the shepherds of the villages located at the foot of the massif.

These pastures allow for mid-season activity, between the winter spent around the village and the summer when transhumance takes place towards the Alps.

Tip:

We advise you to leave directly towards the ridges to go back to Bastide-des-Jourdans: the climb will be less difficult.
