GTV VTT Etape 8 - De Vitrolles-en-Luberon à Lauris
Around the Mourre Nègre, the highest point of the Luberon PNR, this stretch is a treat for those who will have the physics and the technique to appreciate it.

After a brutal start from Vitrolles-en-Luberon, you will walk along the wide ridges and steppe lawns of the Grand Luberon. From this beautiful track, you will then have time to enjoy the panoramic views of the sea to the south and the Mont-Ventoux to the north. The sharper can borrow the RM that follows the ridges in parallel. And if you still have your legs, you can on a small round trip reach the Mourre Negro (1125 m), summit of the Grand Luberon, before diving on the north slope and its pubescent oak grove. The splendid monotrace sometimes narrow and pebbly deserves your vigilance.
By the beautiful balcony path of Marauvière, you reach Auribeau, then the vast plateau of Claparèdes and its procession of lavender fields and dry stone bories. In the end, Sivergues, a village at the end of the world evoked by Henri Bosco.
After Sivergues, you descend into the beautiful green valley of the Aiguebrun, by a rocky path and then softer afterwards. You pass near the spectacular climbing cliffs and then at the foot of the Fort de Buoux. It will then be necessary to climb up the plateau not without effort to reach Bonnieux and don a maze of alleys, narrow as a ladder.
From here, you change the massif, to climb through a succession of rocky tracks and trails, the slopes of the Petit Luberon. Some beautiful farmhouses and large properties punctuate this postcard route. Finally, by a beautiful descent in monotrace, wild and demanding, you switch to Lauris.
