Recommended period(s)
Autumn | Summer | Winter | Spring |Type(s) of land
Hard coating (tar, cement, flooring) |Municipality(ies) crossed
Céreste | Forcalquier | Villeneuve | Volx | Manosque | Saint-Maime | Saint-Martin-de-Castillon | Reillanne | Dauphin | Apt |“The Mediterranean by bike is invited to the heart of the Luberon by bike, in the land of blue gold”
After discovering the pedestrian streets of Apt and its Provencal market on Saturday morning, it is time to return to the heights of the Calavon greenway. By the Ochre circuit by bike, Apt is also a privileged starting point to discover Provençal Colorado.
The terrain is accentuated as you move away from Vaucluse to enter the Alpes de Haute-Provence... The route is now eyeing the mountains of the Alps, with the Lure mountain in mind. At each turn, it is a new discovery: Romanesque bridge of Céreste, Priory of Carluc, hilltop villages of Reillanne and Lincel, cities of character of Mane and Dauphin...
You drive between lavender and old stones in a continuum until Manosque.
The greenway is very well laid out, even if in the municipality of Saignon the staking The Mediterranean by bike is in place.
Caution, the descent after Reillanne is tricky, narrow road, uneven surface, important gully (stones, branches...) after storms. After the descent of Reillanne, at the crossroads on the D4100, 5 km of provisional route to Forcalquier.
